  1. Buena Vista Park Project-Community Meeting

    February 24, 2020, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM @ Randall Museum

    The second community meeting for the Buena Vista Park Needs Assessment and Cost Analysis project will be held on Monday, February 24th, 2019 at 7pm in the Randall Museum Theater Room, located at 199 Museum Way. Please join us to learn about the initial plans for the future restoration of Buena Vista Park that will increase safety and recreational opportunities for the entire community. We hope to see you there!

  1. Pacific Orchid Exposition: 2020 Orchids in Focus

    February 21, 2020, 10:00 AM - February 23, 2020, 5:00 PM @ County Fair Building-Hall of Flowers

    There will be thousands of orchid flowers and plants on display, with judging from the American Orchid Society, as well as plants for sale from members of the San Francisco Orchid Society as well as over 23 international nurseries. Hands-on demonstrations will be conducted by experts with information about successfully growing and blooming orchids at home in San Francisco, as well as ongoing efforts to promote habitat conservation around the world. Families are welcome, and there will be special activities for kids and people of all ages and interests.

  3. SF Youth Baseball League Opening Day

    Join us on Saturday, February 29 to throw out the first pitch on the 2020 baseball season! We will be celebrating opening day for the SF Youth Baseball League from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Kimbell Fields (Geary Boulevard and Steiner Street). Activities will include speed pitch, homerun derby, an all teams parade and more! It'll be a real homerun!

    Mobile Rec features free non-traditional recreation activities including skateboarding/BMX on Fresh Park equipment (ramps, rails and manual pads), disc golf, and sea kayaking.   1. Glen Canyon Habitat Restoration Weekly Volunteer Project

    February 26, 2020, 9:00 AM - 11:30 AM @ Glen Canyon Park

    Join the Friends of Glen Canyon Park and the Natural Resource Division for our monthly volunteer project. While helping to preserve diverse habitats in this naturally occurring canyon, you will learn from our staff naturalists about the ecology of the canyon, Islais Creek, riparian, scrub and grassland plant communities. -The minimum volunteer age is 12 years old -Volunteer tasks include weeding invasive radish and maintaining plantings -Wear close-toed shoes and appropriate clothing for physical work -Tools and gloves will be provided -Light snacks will be offered -Meet on Alms Road which is just north of the Glen Canyon Recreation Facility. The recreation center is at 70 Elk Street.

    Join the Friends of the Visitaction Valley Greenway at a weekly volunteer workparty from 10 am- 12 noon. Learn new horticultural skills at this green jewel in the heart of the Visitacion Valley neighborhood. Six separate, themed lots between Leland and Tioga streets comprise this open space. The Greenway provides nearly 2 acres of critical outdoor space for a diverse community of wildlife and city-dwellers. All supplies, tools, and gloves are provided by SFRPD.
