In the 2000 Neighborhood Park Improvement Bond provides $110 Million for improvements in the following project categories.
The Master Plan for Golden Gate Park is
intended to provide a framework and guidelines
to ensure responsible and enlightened
stewardship of the park. The goal is to manage
the current and future park and recreation
demands while preserving the historic significance
of the park. As such, the plan is a
preservationist plan, and proposed changes
respect the historic context of the park.
Development of the Capital Planning Document
Prior to June of 2000, was essentially a collaborative effort between the RPD Planning Division and the Open Space Committee based on meetings in the summer and fall of each year. In the Fall of 1999, the Department began to develop a new physical planning process
