Park Improvements
In 2001, the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department created a Capital Division for the first time in its history. With the 2008 Clean and Safe Neighborhood Parks Bond, the City and County of San Francisco began a new era of long-term, strategic, and fiscally responsible capital planning for its parks and facilities. Adopted by the Mayor and Board of Supervisors in 2005, the CCSF Ten Year Capital Plan prioritizes basic, critical capital projects that impact public safety and well-being; places a strong emphasis on accountability and transparency; and most importantly, demonstrates the highest levels of fiscal restraint and responsibility.
Renovations to 12 neighborhood parks, plus restroom and playing field repairs, trail reconstruction, a park forestry program, Golden Gate Park projects, Marina Yacht Harbor renovations, and ADA improvements: All these and more are happening around the city right now.
