Sports & Athletics Programs
The Sports and Athletics Division of the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department and its partners offer a wide range of fun and enriching sports programs and courses for all ages. Sports leagues, clinics, and special athletic events are available on a year round basis. The city of San Francisco's adult sports programs provide opportunities for lifelong enjoyment of directed and self-directed physical activity. Programmatic offerings range from softball, basketball, tennis, baseball, volleyball, and kickball, just to name a few. The goal of youth sports in San Francisco is to encourage skill development and foster a positive attitude without overly emphasizing winning every game as a primary goal. Children will learn basic to advanced fundamentals in sports such as baseball, basketball, flag football, soccer, volleyball, and tennis. San Francisco's youth golf programs are designed to introduce and promote the game of golf to young golfers of all abilities. The goal is to provide a fun and enjoyable learning environment that will stimulate interest in the game, build self-esteem, and teach important life skills. Young golfer's will learn the importance of rules and etiquette, as well as the basics of the golf swing and the game. Youth golf programs include San Francisco Recreation and Park Department city-wide opportunities, as well as opportunities with the First Tee Program located at Harding Park.

The Department and our partners have designed several specialized programs designed specifically for this often underserved age group. Check us out!

The mission of the girl's sports division is to develop and deliver equitable and quality sport opportunities for ALL girls. This will be achieved through leadership development, team building, and good old fashioned fun! Girls, ages 6-17, will find a variety of sports offered such as basketball, baseball, volleyball, and soccer just to name a few. Specialty Camps - Coming Soon!
Specialty sports camps are designed to offer a variety of options for youth during summer, winter and spring break. These camps offer beginning, intermediate and advanced play with the goal of developing a foundation for sports and athletics in a recreation setting.
San Francisco Recreation & Parks manages 132 free municipal tennis courts located at playgrounds, parks and recreation centers throughout San Francisco. Golden Gate Park has 21 courts which can be reserved for a nominal fee. Use our

San Francisco boasts some of the country's top public sports complexes. Kezar Stadium, former home of the San Francisco 49ers, is a 10,000 seat multi-use stadium complete with a track that, in addition to hosting major sporting events, is used by thousands of runners and joggers. Kezar Pavilion is the city's home for major events such as the Pro-Am Summer Basketball League, Roller Derby, and feature High School Basketball games. From the Golden Gate Park Tennis Complex, which has 21 beautiful tennis courts, to Crocker Amazon Park with its' 5 baseball fields, 1 football field, 2 bocci ball courts, cricket field, and 5 full size state of the art newly installed synthetic turf soccer fields, the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department has what you're looking for in sports facilities.
