Thanks to those who attended our open house on Thursday, October 3, where we reviewed plans to add lighting per request from the Friends of Lafayette Park. In addition to the open house, the Friends of Lafayette Park also had project boards on hand to share with folks for their Cleaning and Greening event on Saturday, October 5.
For those unable to attend either of the above, click below for plans (2 pages) for lighting improvements: Lafayette Park Lighting PLANS 10.15.19.
Please note that we are still working with our lighting vendor and with our Structural Maintenance Yard to finalize the brightness of each fixture and which of the new fixtures will be bollards and which will be poles. For example, we are still exploring whether one of the bollards called out along the path just north of the dog play area would be replaced with a pole light to better illuminate the dog play area. We will post any updates on project scope to the project page: bit.ly/lafayettelighting.
Please email any feedback on the project to Melinda.Sullivan@sfgov.org by October 23, 2019. Next steps include finalizing construction drawings, revisiting cost estimate and then preparing bid package.
Stay tuned for additional updates.
