We have great news to share. On July 20, our Rec and Park Commission unanimously approved a contract award to Bauman Landscape and Construction for project work that we believe will greatly improve and revitalize Golden Gate Park's 9th Avenue Gateway. Commission approval means that construction on the project can begin in the coming months!
Rec and Park and the contractor are targeting an October start date. Because 9th Avenue and Lincoln Way is such a well-traveled intersection, you are bound to feel some of the traffic flow adjustments that we'll make during construction to how the park is accessed. To minimize disruptions, we will be phasing construction from one side of the intersection to the other, and our intention is to maintain pedestrian, bike, and vehicular access throughout all phases of the project.
We're excited to share this good news and look forward to starting construction in the coming months. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
