Merced Heights Project Update 5/28!

Capital Project Update

Merced Heights Playground Renovation scope of work includes a new children’s play area, upgrades to the clubhouse restrooms and utility/mechanical room for code requirements and accessibility compliance, clubhouse exterior painting, sport courts new lighting, resurfacing and fencing, and new perimeter park fencing. The park is approximately 1.03 acres and is located at 801 Shields Street between Byxbee and Monticello Streets, in District 11 Oceanview-Merced Heights-Ingleside (OMI) neighborhood. 

Merced Heights Playground Renovation Project is part of the Let’s Play SF! Initiative born out of San Francisco Recreation and Park Department Failing Playgrounds program, an allocated program within the 2012 Clean and Safe Neighborhood Parks Bond. Construction started on May 6, 2019 and it is anticipated to be completed by mid-July 2020. Construction is at 85% completion, progress construction photos are shown below.
