RPD Park Improvements: McLaren Park Trails

Posted on: November 16, 2021

Construction at the McLaren Park Native Plant Garden will begin this week!

Capital Project Update

The McLaren Park Native Plant Garden will showcase the benefits of California Native Plants, beautify the Visitacion Avenue corridor, increase public access and participation, and provide a venue for outdoor education. Click here to view the site plan.

Starting Tuesday 11/16/2021, we will begin clearing and grading.

Starting Wednesday 11/17/2021, we will begin pruning and removing hazardous trees.

Work hours are 7am - 5pm.

Pedestrians will be routed around the project site—using Leland and Hahn, instead of the footpath on Visitacion—as noted in the site-logistics plan image.

The Native Plant Garden project has been made possible by a Community Challenge Grant and partnership with Growing Outdoors And Learning (GOAL) and SF Parks Alliance.

We apologize for the temporary inconvenience. The work is intended to reduce vandalism and create a garden oasis for all to enjoy for many years to come.

Please do not hesitate to contact the McLaren Trails Project Manager Lauren Dietrich Chavez with any questions or concerns.
