The Middle Lake Rehabilitation project is moving forward and 90% design documents are nearly complete. In order to pave the way for a smooth construction project on the main scope of work, now due to go out to bid in the summer of 2022, we are initiating the project tree removals early. This will help avoid doing any tree removal work during bird and bat nesting periods, reducing the risk of harm to wildlife and reducing the chance of long project delays. A biologist will be contracted to do any necessary pre-work wildlife assessments prior to this work. The tree removals have been approved by regulatory agencies and are part of the original scope of the project, and will be replaced at a ratio of 2:1 during the main lake rehabilitation project.
