Indoor Facility Rentals
The San Francisco Recreation and Park Department has a variety of rooms available to rent including: auditoriums, meeting rooms, gymnasiums and kitchens. Rentals are in a variety of different facilities. Availability can be limited as we run many of our programs in these sites but, if they are not in use, they are available for public rental.

Mask and vaccination requirements for all indoor rentals must be in compliance with current San Francisco Health Officer Orders. Information for our various facility types can be found on their respective webpages.
Renting a Space

Due to Summer Camps and programming there are only a limited number of facilities available for rent at this time. Applications must be received a minimum of 30 days in advance of your requested date for consideration and processing.
- County Fair Building
- Lake Merced Boathouse - Located on the edge of Lake Merced, the boathouse overlooks the Lake and has a large patio.
- Stern Grove Clubhouse (Trocadero)
- Sunnyside Conservatory
These facilities are not currently available:
- Auditoriums and Meeting Rooms in Recreation Centers and Clubhouses
- EcoCenter at Heron’s Head Park
- Kezar Pavilion
Please note that for certain indoor sites, recreation centers (including gyms) and certain clubhouses, reservations can only be made once the SFRPD Programming schedule has been finalized. The deadlines for programming vary by season, but they are generally about two months prior to the start of each session. Please contact our office for more information.
Indoor reservations requests must be submitted at least two weeks prior to the date of the rental and must be paid and finalized 10 days prior to the date of the rental.
Indoor rentals require a security deposit starting at $250. The security deposit is to ensure that all terms of the permit are followed including the requirement to clean the site after use and remove all trash.
Cancellations & Changes
For rentals less than $1,000 in facility fees, any changes or cancellations must be made at least 10 business days prior to the event date. For rentals of $1,000 or more in facility fees, any changes or cancellations must be at least one month prior to the event date. In the case of any authorized cancellation or change there will also be a fee of the higher of $29 or 20% of the fee. In addition, if you would like a refund (as opposed to a credit to your account), there will be a refund fee of the higher of $14 or 20% of the refund amount. There are no changes or cancellations allowed after the above deadlines.
