The contractor team is continuing with Deep Soil Mixing (DSM) production. DSM work uses large, specialized equipment to stabilize the soil under the location where the new Rec Center will be built. DSM work is anticipated to continue into early 2025. Last week, the contractor team brought a new piece of equipment onto the site. This large rig is helping to core into some obstructions encountered near the corner of Folsom and 6th Street (see photo below). The contractor has had to take a few days off this week due to rain.
NOTE TO NEIGHBORS: Please be advised that we anticipate the Contractor team will be working Saturday, December 7, from 7 am to 7 pm. We are authorizing this work to keep construction progressing as quickly as possible. While performing this work, the contractor will continue to follow all noise ordinance-related requirements. So far, we have observed that while the DSM equipment is very large, the sound created by the process is relatively minor compared to typical construction work. We will post details here as soon as we have them regarding any additional weekend work. Thank you for your support and patience with this transformative project.
Looking ahead, we are actively working to award trade packages for the remaining scopes of work for the project, under Swinerton Builders as general contractor through our Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC) contract delivery method. If you know of any contractors interested in the remaining trade work, please find relevant documents and links here.
