The trail construction portion of the McLaren Trails project is well underway! See attached pictures showing progress made on the reinforced pedestrian trail east of Visitacion Avenue, which will be completed later this week. The dry weather is also allowing our contractor to continue work on the east-west pathways through the Shelley Inner Core. The main southern connector from the Amphitheater Parking Lot toward the Field of Dogs should be completed by the end of January.
The contractor will soon begin work on the new crosswalk, the addition of an ADA parking space, and the entry plaza, path, and trail improvements at the Upper Reservoir.
To accommodate this work, the Upper Reservoir Parking Lot and nearby trails and paths will be closed for more than a month, weather depending, starting 1/20. Please see the map below for details. The pathway circling the Upper Reservoir remains open as do the connections to this pathway from Philosopher’s Way in the north, and from Shelley Promenade in the south.
For your own safety, please follow all signs and do not enter closed areas.
Feel free to reach out with any questions.
