BUCHANAN STREET MALL PROJECT UPDATE

In March 2017, Rec & Park’s partners, the Trust for Public Land (TPL) together with Citizen Film, completed an intensive community engagement process and published a Vision Statement for Buchanan Street Mall. Based on this vision, TPL has just issued a request for conceptual design proposals for the entire 5 block park. We expect to re-engage the community and start work with the selected designer in August, and have a concept design completed by early 2019. We will then focus on a single block for the initial phase of design and construction.
