Interested in helping improve our parks? Volunteer at the McLaren Park Native Plant Garden in Visitacion Valley on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The garden is located on Visitacion Avenue across from Herz Playground. Work will include moving mulch into planter beds and planting California native plants. This new program area showcases hyperlocal and California Native Plants, provides space for outdoor education, and includes a significant nature exploration area for creative play. Wear sturdy shoes, work clothes, and sun protection. Tools and gloves will be provided, but if you have your own gloves, please bring them. Please bring a full water bottle. Refreshments will be provided.
