The newly aligned, more sustainable trail adjacent to Mission Blue Butterfly habitat opened to the public this afternoon! Improvements include the replacement of deteriorated steps, new wayfinding signs, erosion control and habitat protection. This work was funded by the 2008 Clean & Safe Neighborhood Parks Bond and by a Habitat Conservation Fund state grant for our “Creeks to Peaks” trail connection between Twin Peaks and Glen Canyon Park. The contractor built on tremendous work done by volunteers from Volunteers for Outdoor California (V-O-Cal) in summer 2016. The contractor will be wrapping up restoration work in the next week or two, at which point the Twin Peaks Trails Improvement Project Phase 1 will be complete. Click on the map showing the 2 areas of Twin Peaks that received recent improvements.
Take a hike and check out the improvements!
