The design team has completed and submitted 90% construction documents drawings and specifications. These are currently being reviewed by several individuals and agencies for the following: accessibility, cost, tree impacts, maintenance, and compliance with the Maher Program.
A Preliminary Stormwater Control Plan has also been submitted to the SFPUC, and response is anticipated by mid-March.
Thoughtful updates to the design details have been made, and / or are in progress, including the following:
1) Transitioning some seat walls in the park from poured concrete to stacked reclaimed granite
2) Striking the balance of not fencing the entire dog play area and providing sufficient fencing / barriers to minimize user conflicts and damage to trees and plants
3) Fine tuning lighting design and electrical infrastructure details to ensure lighting can be maintained by Rec and Park staff, and including extra materials
4) Working to reconcile all of the soil management requirements and goals, for stormwater control, for Maher Program compliance, for preservation of existing trees, and for plant health / horticultural suitability
We are working to finalize the above reviews and to incorporate comments with the goal of finalizing construction documents and advertising to contractors this Spring.
Stay tuned for more updates.
