Hello neighbors! A quick construction update on Louis Sutter Playground. We passed our accessibility inspections and construction fencing is coming down soon. You will see ongoing planting work after the fencing is removed, but we’re excited to cross this important project milestone that will improve access to Louis Sutter Playground from the north.
At the end of last month, we also were pleased to unveil a new temporary art installation at Louis Sutter Playground – a spectacular fish tile mural on the roundhouse. The volunteer community organization Help McLaren Park and artist Hudson Lanier advocated for the 350 ceramic fish installation on four roundhouse panels. The project both beautifies the facility and pays tribute to the fish in McNab Lake. The mural project, which was funded in part by a San Francisco Community Challenge Grant, will be maintained by Help McLaren Park, a fiscally sponsored project of San Francisco Parks Alliance.
Remember too that our McLaren Park 2020 Bond Planning Survey is now open. We'd love to hear your thoughts on project priorities at the park. The survey will be open and accepting responses until at least 8/1/2023.
