In response to a citizen complaint about access into the San Francisco Botanical Garden Bookstore in Golden Gate Park, Rec and Park will be performing construction work to ensure that the Botanical Garden Bookstore complies with current building codes and the Americans with Disabilities Act while complimenting the existing structure.
The project recently underwent a review process by Rec and Park’s maintenance staff, and the design team, San Francisco Public Works Bureau of Architecture, is revising our plans per the comments received. Once complete, we will finalize the design and then prepare drawings to advertise a request to contractors to bid for this project’s construction contract. We’re aiming to begin construction later this year and complete the project in early 2024. We will keep you posted as the project progresses.
