Hello neighbors! The gateway to Golden Gate Park at 9th Avenue and Lincoln Way is one of the most well used park entrances by pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers. Very soon, construction will begin on landscape and wayfinding improvements that will create an iconic and welcoming entry experience for all parkgoers. Along with being beautiful, the new design will increase pedestrian safety and strengthen the park’s connection to the Inner Sunset.
As we announced in July, our Rec and Park Commission unanimously approved a contract award to Bauman Landscape and Construction for this project. The contract is now fully executed, and construction should be starting soon.
Once construction starts, you will start to see vehicular and pedestrian detours at the gateway. These and other construction impacts throughout the project will be communicated via banners at the site, as well as in our newsletters, project blog, and project webpage.
