Hello, neighbors. Since our last update in February, the feel of the playground has really taken shape. Concrete seat walls have been poured and the playground equipment is up! If you walk by the park you’ll notice the centerpiece of the new playground, a giant wooden grizzly bear, as well as the new climbing rock and tot swings.
Meanwhile, progress is going well on the restrooms, and we’ve been making preparations for paving work around the site.
Please note that the multi-use court is likely to be closed for the duration of the project, with the tennis and basketball courts remaining open and accessible via the 19th Avenue gate. The project is anticipated to be completed later this summer.
The Richmond Playground Renovation is part of the Let’sPlaySF! Initiative, a partnership between the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department and the San Francisco Parks Alliance to transform 13 timeworn play areas across the City. For more information, please visit the project webpage >>
