We are delighted to announce that Cazadoro Construction, Inc. has been awarded the contract to renovate two segments of trail within the Twin Peaks Open Space this summer: the trail at Noe Peak and the switchback just south of it.
Construction is scheduled to start in mid-June. Both trails will be closed for several months while under construction.
As part of this project, we will remove and replace the box steps and low wood retaining walls; install stringer steps, split rail fencing, wayfinding signage, and erosion control measures; and seed native plants for habitat restoration.
The next phase of work will restore the trail that connects Crestline Drive to Twin Peaks Boulevard (future Twin Peaks Promenade). This scope of work is funded but will follow under a separate contract.
Design planning continues on the Twin Peaks Promenade project, a set of park improvements that will complete the transformation of this former roadway into a beautiful, pedestrian pathway. The promenade project is fully funded and scheduled to go out for construction contract bids at the beginning of 2025. Final design work is now underway. Construction documents are nearing the 95% completion milestone, and we are preparing for the required reviews under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
Thank you for your ongoing support and we look forward to sharing more updates with you as the project progresses.
