Please be advised that there is currently right of way work directly adjacent to Gene Friend Rec Center that is part of two Public Works projects: the Folsom Streetscape Project and the 6th Street Pedestrian Safety Project. We have been coordinating closely with both project teams (project managers, construction management team, and contractor teams) for quite some time to minimize any construction conflicts and optimize efficiency.
The 6th Street Pedestrian Safety Project team began demolition work today that is part of the installation of new curb ramps and bulb-out adjacent to Gene Friend Rec Center. We anticipate this work will take approximately four weeks.
The Folsom Streetscape Project team is expecting to begin minor utility work in the coming weeks.
Please be alert for temporary pedestrian detours related to the projects, and for your safety, please follow all posted signage and the directions from flaggers.
