Trail Walks in McLaren Park, June 14th (Postponed) and June 29th!

Capital Project Update

Kickoff summer with some time out in nature and join us for one or two upcoming walks through McLaren Park!

Our McLaren Trails project team will be sharing proposed priority trail improvements in four areas of the park, as identified in the 2017 McLaren Park Vision Plan, and refined through community engagement and environmental compliance work in recent years. We’ll highlight the natural resources that trail improvements and consolidation are intended to protect and enhance and solicit public input on wayfinding and interpretive signage.

Tuesday, June 14th starting at 8:30 am A dirt pathway with trees and shrubs on either side in McLaren Park.

Upper Reservoir and Shelley Inner Core

Meet at the Upper Reservoir Parking Lot

Wednesday, June 29th starting at 4:00 pm

Visitacion Avenue and University Hill

Meet at the new Native Plant Garden on Visitacion Avenue

Each walk will take approximately 90 minutes and traverse 2-2.5 miles of challenging terrain.

Come dressed for variable weather, with sun protection, a water bottle, and sturdy footwear.

Translation during the walk can be requested by calling (415) 496-6204 or emailing pete.j.moore@sfgov.org. Providing at least 72 hours advance notice will help to ensure availability.

Your participation will help ensure that upcoming trail and natural features restoration work will improve visitor appreciation of and navigation through the largest park in southeast San Francisco.
