Welcome to the Mission Creek Harbor Community Garden, located at Mission Creek Park South!
Overview
The Mission Creek Harbor Community Garden is part of the redevelopment project of the Mission Bay neighborhood, led by the Office of Community Investment and Infrastructure (OCII) and the Mission Bay Development Group (MBDG). The park will be owned and managed by SF Rec and Park. SF Rec and Park has partnered on the planning and design of Mission Bay Community Garden to ensure the park meets our operational and programmatic standards.
The Community Garden is being built as part of the Mission Creek Park South Extension Project.
Site History
Mission Creek Harbor has been home to a community garden along Mission Creek since the 1980s. The original community garden was cared for by the Mission Creek Harbor Association, which includes the original houseboat residents of the neighborhood.
OCII and MBDG are creating over 40 acres of parks through the redevelopment of Mission Bay, including Mission Creek Park South, which stretches along the creek. The renovation of Mission Creek Park South will add multi-purpose trails, native plant gardens, passive recreation areas and a renovation and expansion of the historic community garden. As part of the redevelopment process, OCII is transferring ownership and management of the Mission Bay Parks back to the City of San Francisco. SF Rec and Park is excited to work with the community to steward the Mission Creek Harbor Community Garden.
