Koshland Park Community Garden Renovation | Project update, October 2025

Rec Park Improvements: Koshland Park Posted on October 22, 2025

We’re excited to share that, last week, our Recreation and Park Commission unanimously approved the concept design for the Koshland Park Community Garden Renovation project.

This marks an important milestone toward revitalizing one of the city’s most beloved neighborhood spaces in the Lower Haight.

The project is funded through the Geballe Family and supported by the Trust for Public Land (TPL) and will enhance accessibility, safety, and community use throughout the garden and surrounding park.

The approved concept design features an accessible pathway, new decking and seating areas, reconstructed planting beds, and improved sight-lines across the garden to better serve gardeners and neighbors.

We’d like to thank the many residents, garden members, and community partners who have participated in the design process. Your feedback shaped the vision for this renovation and helped ensure that Koshland Park grows into a more welcoming and inclusive space for all.

Next up, the project team will work over the next several months to complete detailed design and construction documents. Construction is anticipated to begin in mid-2026.

Stay tuned for more updates!
