Golden Gate Park - JFK Promenade | Construction update, December 2025

Rec Park Improvements: Golden Gate Park | All project updates Posted on December 01, 2025

Construction to upgrade the crosswalks and curb ramps on JFK Promenade near the Conservatory of Flowers has begun! Our contractor is working to remove and replace the crosswalks and curb ramps at Pompeii Circle and Conservatory Drive East. This work is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

JFK Promenade will remain open to pedestrians throughout construction. Expect intermittent street/sidewalk closures, pedestrian detours, construction noise, and construction vehicles on JFK Promenade. Please follow all posted signage and directions from flaggers.

This work will have no impact on our 96th annual Holiday Tree Lighting at McLaren Lodge in Golden Gate Park, this Thursday, December 4, 4 to 8 p.m.

The start of construction on the sidewalk improvements along Stanyan Street near McLaren Lodge is contingent on MTA reviews and approvals. Construction is expected to begin in late December or following completion of the work on JFK Promenade.
