Hello neighbors! We have some exciting progress to report since our last update at the end of November.
Due to the rains, the lake has begun to refill with water. This has given us the opportunity to observe the new lake liner in action. The lake liner is performing well and holding water just as designed.
Last month, we installed erosion control and sheet mulching, and then began filling out the site with new trees and other plantings. More than 6,000 plants will be planted as part of the project, and since last month over half of those have already been planted! We expect all of these plants to be in the ground by mid-January.
Once planting is complete, pathway installation will begin. We hope for the site to reopen to the public in late February or early March 2024.
