Rachele Sullivan Park | San Francisco Arts Commission selects Wofford's Natomarama art proposal

Rec Park Improvements | All Project Updates Posted on December 20, 2024

On Monday, December 2, the San Francisco Arts Commission approved artist Jenifer Wofford's conceptual proposal, Natomarama, for the public art opportunity at Rachele Sullivan Park (11th and Natoma). Congratulations to the artist and to the dedicated community members who have been involved from early planning.

At the Artist Review Panel on October 31, all three proposals—Natomarama by Jenifer Wofford, SF Love by J Manuel Carmona, and Hillsides of Home by Ethel Revita and Ricardo Estella of Creativity Explored—presented strong designs with deep community resonance. The majority of the 76 public comments received for the three proposals were overwhelmingly positive, expressing that the proposals were impactful, playful, and whimsical. The public comments also expressed that there was much excitement that all the finalists were local, Bay Area-based.

As for Wofford's approved conceptual proposal, the artist is now refining her design and intends to engage community members in one or two workshops to receive input on the cultural symbols represented in her current design. We will share more details once they are available.

Feel free to reach out with any questions.
