We are excited to announce the renovation of South Sunset Clubhouse! Construction is slated to begin by the end of this month and will continue through early 2026.
The project will reconfigure the 2,060 square-foot facility’s floor plan to create a more open layout. We will renovate the multi-purpose room, modernize the commercial kitchen, upgrade the two existing restrooms, create an additional restroom, and create extra storage space. We will also improve access to the building, replace the roof, make sewer line improvements, upgrade utility equipment, add new signage, replace the sliding glass doors, repair the brickwork, and refresh the landscaping.
The South Sunset Clubhouse Renovation project is designed by Paulett Taggart Architects with the support and coordination of Self-Help for the Elderly, our main tenants since 1992, and other key stakeholders. The contractor is Argo Construction, Inc. and this project is covered under the Citywide Project Labor Agreement (PLA), ensuring compliance with city contracting and labor standards.
Funding comes from San Francisco’s 2020 Health and Recovery General Obligation Bond and an FY 22-23 State Budget Specified Grant. Many thanks to the San Francisco voters who overwhelmingly approved the 2020 Bond! Your support helps ensure that San Franciscans have access to safe and welcoming community centers like South Sunset Clubhouse.
Please note that while the building is closed for construction, we are providing temporary toilet facilities nearby.
Feel free to reach out with any questions.
