Since our last update, we’ve made major construction progress on the new building. On October 17, we placed the new rec center’s very first window glass (on the Folsom and Harriet side). The remaining windows will be installed in the coming weeks.
Site work is also in full swing. Concrete work started this month for our raised planters and our playground equipment should be arriving at the site soon. We anticipate beginning installation of the playground equipment around Thanksgiving.
Finally, the contractor team is starting on the extensive trenching work required for new electrical service. This scope includes trenching all the way to Howard and 6th Street. We are working with the contractor team and with SFPUC and PG&E to complete the required work and inspections as quickly as possible.
We are still on schedule to open the facility next summer 2026.
