Please be advised: Soil off haul is scheduled for Wednesday, December 3 and Friday, December 5. Expect construction vehicles entering and exiting the worksite, as well as impacts to parking and traffic. Please follow all posted signage and directions from flaggers.
We had a few pauses in construction in November due to rain days and the Thanksgiving Holiday, but construction is still moving along at a good pace.
Recent progress highlights include:
- Sewer reinforcement and replacement work is complete!
- Excavation and placement of irrigation mainline is nearing completion.
- Excavation and placement of electrical conduit is well underway.
- After design revisions due to unforeseen conflicts, the footings are being poured for light poles, the Memory Walk art fence, and basketball hoops.
- Installation of the inlets and conveyance pipes for our new rain gardens and underground infiltration galleries has begun under the sidewalks adjacent to Buchanan Mall.
Upcoming work includes:
- More green infrastructure excavation and installation work, both on park property and adjacent sidewalks.
- Forming and installation of site walls will begin in the next couple weeks.
- Playground and exercise equipment footings will be poured starting in early December.
- Installation of base rock and concrete base will begin before the end of the year.
Reminder to please follow all site signage and move carefully along designated pedestrian access routes, for your own safety.
Our Memory Walk Phase 1 artists have been selected by the community-led Memory Walk Advisory Committee and are currently executing contracts with Trust for Public Land. We anticipate sharing an announcement from Trust for Public Land soon. Stay tuned!
