Despite the rain, our community outreach event in January was a huge success. Thank you KABOOM!, Silver Terrace Forever, SF Parks Alliance, and Kinderhaus for helping us promote this event. It was a great opportunity for us to come together and share ideas in the park!
During the event we shared image boards, which offered neighbors an opportunity to share their design preferences and tell us how they use the space. We also received feedback from over 110 participants on our online survey. From those participants we learned that 85% bring children, ranging in ages from 2-12. The responses suggest that families prefer active equipment like climbing structures with slides and swings. There was also a preference for nature exploration, trees, and improved landscaping.
Also, over the last few months, we have been actively fundraising and applying for grants in hopes to deliver even more amenities to the park, as a part of this renovation. We have some promising prospects, and we hope at some point to have good news to share. Wish us luck!
