Construction at India Basin Shoreline Park is progressing alongside the removal of the former PG&E tower.
The site is being cleared to prepare for upcoming improvements, with earthwork now underway and in-water work expected to begin later this month. Additional work in the area of the former PG&E tower will continue into early 2026.
NIGHT WORK AT INDIA BASIN SHORELINE PARK BEGINS NOVEMBER 10
As part of the India Basin Shoreline Park renovation, essential construction work will take place at night and on weekends this month. Night work begins Monday, November 10, and will continue through the end of November.
This work involves earthmoving along the shoreline, which must be completed during low tides at night to meet environmental permit requirements and protect local wildlife. The approved window for this activity ends November 30.
Residents may notice additional noise and lighting, as well as workers wearing Tyvek full-body protective suits. These suits are standard safety gear used when excavating older soil from the area’s shipbuilding era. Air monitors will be in place throughout the work to track air quality, and crews will take immediate measures—such as applying water to control dust—if elevated levels are detected. Please note that this work is entirely unrelated to activities at the Hunters Point Naval Shipyard, which is roughly half a mile away.
