Golden Gate Park - JFK Promenade | Construction advisory, February 9, 2026

Rec Park Improvements: Golden Gate Park | All project updates Posted on February 09, 2026

CONSTRUCTION ADVISORY: Please be advised that most of Conservatory Drive East will be closed to pedestrians and cyclists for road work Tuesday, February 10 through Friday, February 13. This closure may resume the following week, if needed.

There will be orange road barricades and/or construction fences to indicate closed sections of roadway. Cyclists are advised to use Conservatory Drive West, which runs along the western side of the Conservatory of Flowers.

Expect construction vehicles, construction noise, intermittent street/sidewalk closures, and pedestrian/bicycle detours on JFK Promenade, Conservatory Drive East, and Pompeii Circle. Please follow all posted signage and directions from flaggers.

JFK Promenade will remain open to pedestrians and cyclists throughout construction.

All crosswalk and curb ramp work on JFK is expected to be completed by the end of February.

Construction to improve the sidewalk along Stanyan Street, near McLaren Lodge, is pending MTA reviews and approvals. Construction on the sidewalk along Stanyan Street is expected to follow the completion of the work on JFK Promenade.

Thank you for your support as we work to improve accessibility and safety in Golden Gate Park!
