Occasional Reservations

Single Weekend/Weekday or Weeknight Reservations (Occasional Reservations)

Who Can Reserve? Individuals only playing with friends or family. This is not for leagues or programs.

What Can You Reserve? Any individual may reserve no more than one slot per week, Monday through Sunday.

• Weekday (Mon-Fri) Evenings after 6:30 pm in 1 hour slots (For summer season, online bookings will be available for diamonds beginning at 3:30 pm and for half pitches beginning at 4:00 pm. Please note online bookings prior to 6:30pm are limited to youth practice use only.)

• The goal of this provision is to ensure that walk-up reservations are used only by occasional users and not leagues or programs (which should be applied for months in advance). 

What Can You Not Reserve? Reservation requests for schools, clinics, programs, special events and back-to-back games to be used to run a league or tournament do not qualify as walk-up reservations. These requests must be made through Advance Field Reservations in the appropriate season.

What Does it Cost? 

• SF Residents $37 per hour (Provide residency proof via our APPLICATION FOR A SF RESIDENCY ACCOUNT FOR DISCOUNTED ATHLETIC FIELDS-see below) 
• Nonresidents or for profit activities $95 per hour. 
• Lighting fee: $15 per hour fee per field for use of lights. 

How to Become Eligible for Resident Fees? 

In order to be eligible for resident fees, you will need to apply for a SF Residency account using our Application for a SF Residency Account for Discounted Athletic Fields and provide proof of identification (driver’s license, passport) and proof of residency (it must be a utility bill). Once your residency status is approved, you will be able to book online or over the telephone and you will receive our resident rate. Please note: We expect to purge our system of all previous existing residency statuses by August 2021. All individuals will need to reapply for SF residency again using the application above. Your SF residency status will be good for 3 years from the date of approval.

How Can You Reserve? Reservations can be made on a first-come, first-served basis either:

• Online Reservations - Open 24/7. You must pay for your reservation online at the time of booking.
• Phone Reservations can be made by calling 415-831-5500 Monday through Friday between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. You must pay for your reservation at that time by Visa or Master card only.

• Walk-in Reservations: San Francisco Permit Center, 49 South Van Ness Avenue, San Francisco CA 94103. Monday through Friday 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM with the exception of holidays.
  

 When Can Fields First Be Reserved? New occasional reservation slots become available at 10:00 AM per the following schedule:

Occasional/Walk-Up Reservation Policies

Cancellations  For a single or walk in reservation there will be no cancellations on a grass/diamond field unless it rains. Synthetic turf fields play rain or shine unless there is lightning.

Transfer of Reservations  Reservations are for use only as described in your reservation permit. You may not transfer or assign the reservation to any other group or organization or use it for any other purpose. Violation of this provision will result in termination of the permittee and any affiliated organization from the right to book further reservations.

Multiple, Long-term & Special Event Reservations (Leagues, Camps, Programs) Multiple, long-term and special event reservations including leagues, camps and programs must be made online on our website. Visit the Advanced Field Requests page.

Other Reservations  Persons or groups who wish to reserve a neighborhood recreation center or playground clubhouse will need to obtain a permit. For cost and further information call 415-831-5500.
