SF Rec and Park began managing the completed Mission Bay Parks on July 1 of 2023. Our gardening and custodial staff – led by Park Service Area manager Brandon Young – has ensured that these beautiful parks continue serving both residents and visitors to Mission Bay. Brandon Young and other Rec and Park staff have attended Mission Bay CAC meetings and other meetings to introduce ourselves, hear community feedback, and build a relationship with the neighborhood. Rec and Park is proud to provide our excellent and professional stewardship for the Mission Bay parks.

We are excited to announce the creation of the Rec and Park website for the Mission Creek Park South Extension Project. The Office of Community Investment and Infrastructure (OCII), along with the Mission Bay Development Group (MBDG), is responsible for the development of Mission Creek Park South extension project (Parcels 2 and 8). Rec and Park will own and operate the park upon completion and is engaged in the design and construction process to ensure Rec and Park operational requirements and best practices are followed.

At this link you can find an overview of the Mission Creek Park South extension project. This document and more can also be found on our project website. Project elements include new passive recreation and gathering space, multi-use trails, public art, a community garden, and native plantings. We expect construction to begin in 2026 with an 18-month construction duration.
