Girls Sports
Rec and Park’s girls sports division develops and delivers equitable and quality sports opportunities for city girls through leadership development, team building, and good old fashioned fun. Girls, ages 5-14, will find a variety of sports programs and events, including basketball, volleyball, soccer, softball, baseball and more!
We're excited to share the Fall 2023 programming for girls sports, with opportunities to play basketball, volleyball, softball, golf and more:
JUNIOR WARRIORS:

Priority Registration (for families on scholarship) opens at 10AM Monday, October 30th, 2023.

San Francisco Bay Sox Girls Baseball
A project of the San Francisco Park & Rec Department, The San Francisco Bay Sox Girls Baseball Program is the largest girls baseball program currently operating in the US. Founded in 2015 by former Women’s Baseball players Rachelle "Rocky" Henley and Alex Oglesby with the desire to field an all girls’ team to represent San Francisco in the inaugural Baseball For All National Girls Baseball Tournament. At the most recent Baseball For All national tournament in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, this past July 12-16, the Bay Sox performed extraordinarily well. The 14U team went undefeated, winning their division, and the 12U team finished third in their division.
The Bay Sox Program has grown to provide year-long developmental activities and teams and higher level travel teams for girls ages 6-18. Since it’s inception, the Bay Sox has expanded from one team of 12 girls to serving over 120 girls annually with our clinics and teams, in our quest to show the world just how much the game of baseball needs women and girls.
The philosophy of the Bay Sox program is to provide an inclusive, safe space for the development of female baseball players. The Bay Sox program will develop competitive baseball players that can confidently tryout and play for any baseball team they choose. Our program aims to provide female players with the same opportunities that are traditionally offered to their male counterparts.
The Bay Sox program offers Summer-Fall travel teams, Spring SFYBL teams, Winter workouts, and Fall/Winter monthly free baseball clinics. Fall workout dates will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from September 12 to November 9, 4:30-6:30 PM at Crocker Amazon Playground. Please register at sfrecpark.org/register.
