SoMa West Skate Park
SoMa West Skate Park was designed by Newline and inspired by local street skating spots. It's popular for its many obstacles, including ledges, hubbas, rails, banks, stairs and transitions. More info
6th Avenue Skate Park – Golden Gate Park (Roller Skating)
A popular destination for local and visiting roller skaters alike, Skatin' Place in Golden Gate Park is located along the JFK Promenade near 6th Avenue and Fulton. More info
Hilltop Skate Park
Originally built in 1979, this was the City’s first public skate park and was renovated in 2016 to meet modern skating standards. More info
Potrero Del Sol
Designed by Dreamland and built by Grindline, this park, located off of Cesar Chavez Street in the Potrero Hill neighborhood, has a large concrete bowl on one side and ramps, rails, and so much more on the other. The park has been a favorite for skaters for years. More info
Balboa Park
Balboa Park Skate Park is an enclosed area with ramps, stairs, rails, mounds, walls, and a small wooden bowl that packs a big punch. More info
UN Plaza
San Francisco's United Nations Plaza, located in the Civic Center area adjacent to Market Street, is the newest street-style skate plaza in San Francisco. A 13,000-square-foot skating plaza, designed by local professional skateboarders and skate park advocates, is filled with elements from iconic skate spots around the City, most of which no longer exist. Its centerpiece, a skateable pyramid, is nod to Place de la République in Paris, a large multi-use pedestrian plaza that incorporates street skating. While several cities in Europe have designed public spaces for pedestrians and skateboarders, San Francisco is now the only U.S. city to adopt a design at this scale that thoughtfully integrates both groups. Zion Skate Plaza (Waller Street Skate Park) - Golden Gate Park
Waller Street Skate Park is the nation’s first street-style skate plaza. It started at the DYI venue and was recently renovated with permanent street elements including granite ledges, k-rails, and an acrylic asphalt coating ideal for a smooth ride. More info
Sunset Dunes Skate Area
Skaters on San Francisco’s west side now have a place to roll and grind as the city’s latest coastal park, Sunset Dunes, has unveiled brand-new skate elements. The skate area, located along Sunset Dunes at Sloat Boulevard, was designed for skaters of all skill levels and includes a bank, quarter pipe, island feature, and several creatively designed elements crafted from upcycled granite—blending sustainability with recreation. The additions mark a milestone in the transformation of this coastal site into an active, engaging community space offering fun activities for people of all ages.
