Please join Rec and Park and SFMTA staff for a site walk to review design options proposed for slowing traffic and improving pedestrian and bicycle safety and access along Visitacion Avenue.
Thursday 8/25/2022, 6-7:30pm
Meet in front of Coffman Pool, 1700 Visitacion Ave, San Francisco, CA 94134
Goals for the Visitacion Avenue Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Project include increasing safety and improving pedestrian and bicycle access along a half mile stretch of Visitacion Avenue between Mansell Street and Hahn Street. Park users will benefit with improved traffic safety and calming on Visitacion Avenue, pedestrian connections to Herz Playground, McLaren Park Community Garden, McLaren Park Native Plant Garden, and the park trail system. In addition, new Visitacion Avenue bikeways will connect the existing Mansell St bikeway to the Visitacion Valley and Sunnydale neighborhoods.
Project scope includes narrowing the roadway and adding protected bike lanes, sidewalks, and lighting, and will remove a significant amount of parking, while maintaining parking in the high-use lower area between the McLaren Community Garden and Coffman Pool.
We look forward to sharing current design options and hearing public input. Please join us on 8/25, or feel free to send comments to Rec and Park Staff:
