SAN FRANCISCO, CA— Food lovers looking to embrace new offerings in the heart of Civic Center Plaza are in luck—Assembly Café and Beer Garden opened today—Valentine’s Day, the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department announced.

The cafe is located at 52 Grove Street in Civic Center Plaza just steps from San Francisco City Hall. Government workers, local residents, tourists, and families will find high quality fare with outdoor seating and plenty of to-go options.

Assembly is open weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in fall and winter, and 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. in spring and summer. The café will extend its hours for special events at Civic Center Plaza.

“Civic Center Plaza is a vibrant urban space surrounded by cultural institutions and brimming with recreational options for people of all ages, from the creative Helen Diller playgrounds to Zumba classes. The addition of Assembly Café and Beer Garden provides the final ingredient for a perfect day in the heart of San Francisco,” said Recreation and Park General Manager Phil Ginsburg.

Assembly will serve food and beverages from local purveyors, including Sightglass Coffee, Panorama Baking, Anchor Steam beer and more.
