We have received two large deliveries of trees this month, last week and this week. Our hearty landscape architects, Rec and Park operations team, resident engineer, and landscape subcontractor worked to unload and review and approve the trees, even with the wet weather, and these trees will be planted as soon as possible after the New Year.
Weather permitting, the contractor will be on-site for a few days next week to work toward finishing the installation of the storm drain system.
The Rec and Park Commission approved a contract amendment today for an extension of schedule and budget.
All planting, including trees and sod, needs to be installed and approved at least three months before substantial completion. With that in mind, we anticipate substantial completion and park re-opening for mid-Spring 2024. We are pushing forward as quickly as possible, we anticipate that the pace of work will pick up significantly in January, and we will share re-opening date and celebration details as soon as we have them.
Thank you for your patience with and support of this curb-to-curb renovation.
Stay tuned for more updates in January, and Happy Holidays!
